Curriculum Enrichment

We look closely at our curriculum and create as many opportunities for learning outside of the usual class-based work.

The children take part in a number of enrichment opportunities each half term - linked to their topic, the wider curriculum or world experiences. This can take different forms - visitors in to school, visits out of school, class work with a visitor, an online seminar, a whole school visit off site and many other opportunities.

Here are some of our more recent experiences - do ask the children about them.

Quality Marks

As well as experiences for pupils we endeavour to create the best learning environment possible. Current we hold the following quality marks.

Our school use Times Tables Rock Stars for supporting the learning of times tables and inverse division facts. Where engagement has been good, the school has achieved above the National Averages for 2021/2022, 2022/2023 in the Multiplication Timestables Check.

Our school achieved Healthy Smiles accredited status in the Summer Term 2024. We extended the offer across the whole school, so now all children from nursery to Year 6 have the opportunity to brush their teeth each day after lunch. School provide the toothbrushes (bamboo, and fully recyclable) and toothpaste.

Our school has signed up for the Music Mark for 2024-2025. Each child in Key Stage 2 is able to learn an instrument as part of the class music lesson. This is either an ocarina or a glockenspiel. We also have a weekly musician focus, as part of music lessons and collective worship. There are displays around the school with this information on. This is the Musician of the Month support package.

School is currently working towards the Inclusion Quality Mark, and the RE quality Mark at Gold Level. Currently we have Silver.
