Outdoor Learning - Using our Forest Areas

Every child takes part in outdoor learning, every week.

We are proud to take part in regular outdoor learning every week. We are lead by Mrs Rachael Garrod who supports each class in learning about the outdoors, as well as the class staff. Currently, this is on a Wednesday and Thursday.

Our school site has been risk assessed for general learning, as well as more ambitious activities, such as using ropes, hammocks and lighting fires.

We are also incredibly fortunate to be able to access the Millennium Green for some of our learning. This is 10 acres of open and woodland space that is just opposite to school. Recent work included supporting the Millennium Green community to plant 600 daffoldil bulbs.

The local parish council donated a grant of £900 to enable us to buy some natural seating, tarpaulin, drain pipes and resources to make bird boxes and bug hotels.

Mrs Garrod posts all updates for her days on the school Facebook Page. Please add 'Carbrooke Primary' as a friend, or ask to come in and take a look at the displays in school.
