Children in year 5 are members of Starling Class. They are taught by Miss Harvey and supported in their learning by Mrs Marchesi.

Our topic for Summer 2 is 'Crime and Punishment'.
In our English lessons, we will be reading 'Holes' by Louis Sachar and we will be writing discussion texts.
In maths we will be learning about: decimals, negative numbers, converting units and volume.
Our history topic will be looking at 'crime and punishment', we will learn about how this has changed over time.
In science we will be studying 'forces'. We will be be looking at gravity, air resistance, water resistance and friction.
In our RE lessons, we will be looking at Judaism and answering the question 'What is holiness for Jewish people: a place, a time, an object or something else?'

PE:
This half term, we will be doing PE on Monday afternoons. Children will need to come to school wearing their PE kits.
Forest Schools:
Forest Schools will occur on Thursday afternoons. Please ensure the children are dressed appropriately for the weather and bring sensible shoes/ wellies.
